Just Google It!

How often do you hear someone say or you’ve found yourself say, “just google it”!?  If you’re like me, the answer would be umpteenth times!

But that’s the truth!

If you want to learn something you can find it on the internet.  It’s right there, right at your fingertips!  You just have to know what to type in your google search box.  Thus the verb, “google it”, as in….”research it on the internet!”

Over the weekend, our garage door opener broke and rather than hiring someone to get it fixed, my husband learned about it from YouTube.  There were several videos available with  step by step instructions on how to get it fixed.  But this video,  Garage Door Spring Repair, was the one he found to be most helpful.  So with an $80 purchase from Menard’s plus an hour of his time, the garage door is fixed!  I realize that hiring someone to fix it would have probably cost less, but, he learned something new.  And knowledge is sexy!  ūüėČ

Speaking of which, I also want to learn something new….and that is, how to create a website through WordPress.  I have dabbled on web creation in the past.  But something just out of the box with very minimal tweaking like from iWeb.  Take a look at this Wonderful Lashes website I created myself.  It was very easy to do.  So if you have a Mac, this is something you can easily create.

So going back to WordPress.  WordPress is great because they have several themes and lots of beautiful designs to choose from.  Two of the themes I’m currently looking into are Thesis and Genesis.  Doing some research right now so I can write about my journey and will keep you posted.

And like I said, you can pretty much learn how to do everything….just google it!

So how about you?  Do you google?  When was the last time you googled?  And what did you google?  I want to hear your experience with google!  Do tell…

My Favorite Escape…

….Mariola’s Organic Spa and Retreat is on Groupon this morning! ¬†They’re offering one hour organic facial or organic massage for only $40, normally a $95 service. ¬†Make sure to take advantage of it and buy one for you and more for your friends. ¬†It has a one year expiration date so you can use as gifts for special occasion. ¬†I can think of one {Valentine’s} day coming up very, very soon!

Shellac (No Chip) Manicure

Day 2 of my pampering experience…decided to try this new shellac manicure. ¬†I hear people talk about it all the time. ¬†It’s supposed to be no-chip for 14 days (maybe even longer) and it dries instantly. ¬†I love the french manicure and have tried acrylic nails. ¬†But just never been a fan of acrylics. ¬†My nails grow so fast that I always have that gap at the edge of the acrylics which totally BUG the scheisters out of me. ¬†And I hate the unnatural feel of the nails. ¬†You know, where you can’t feel what you’re touching and you never want to touch anything with your finger tips and blah. ¬†I’m a busy girl and I hate the fuss. ¬†I cook almost every day, do dishes and I just can’t be bothered with the acrylics. ¬†But that’s just me! ¬†I’m sure acrylics are great for others.

So…went to Vickie’s Personal Touch this morning and gave it a try. ¬†They have a $5 off coupon that ends January 31, 2011. ¬†So far I love the look. ¬†My nails dried instantly. ¬†I was out of there in 30 minutes and I can touch anything I want without the worry of chipping my newly manicured nails. ¬†I asked them if it was “safe” on your nails. ¬†Supposedly it is….but when your nail polish is about to chip off, NEVER pull them off as it can peel off a layer of your nail! ¬†UGH! ¬†Sounds painful. ¬† Take a look at the picture below. ¬†Those are my natural nails. ¬†What do you think? ¬†I’ll give you another review after 14 days and see what “I” think…. Ciao!

A Very Organic Facial Experience

Today was my {ME} day. ¬†No SEO, no SEM, no SM, just me and some pampering. ¬†I had an hour-long date with the Elliptical machine while I watched my favorite HGTV, then I was off to Mariola’s Organic Spa & Retreat for an hour-long organic facial with Vanessa. ¬†What an exquisite treat it was! ¬†Let me walk you through my experience…

The spa was very inviting.  There were wonderful scent everywhere of incense, vanilla, a hint of strawberries or was it raspberries?  WOW!  It was purely magical.  I filled out a questionnaire.  Then Vanessa gave me a quick tour of the place.  When I walked in the treatment room, she explained to me what I needed to do and there I was, laying there anxious to experience what was next.

Threading?  That was my first.  I want to do that again.  My brows look sultry.  I love the shape of it.  Thanks Vanessa!

Next, facial….she started with a nice neck and shoulder massage, then facial massage, then some scalp, more facial, more neck and shoulders, facial again….ahhh, I’m in heaven! ¬†There were harp instruments playing in the background and Vanessa is one of the angels! ¬†She has very gentle hands with just the right strokes. ¬†It was so very relaxing, I think I dozed off from time to time. ¬†I really liked that they use organic products that is safe and gentle on my skin. ¬†Plus, it smelled wonderful and gave me a nice glow afterwards.

You can tell Vanessa is passionate about what she does. ¬†It comes through her hands. ¬†Keep it up Vanessa! ¬†Any of you want a facial treat….Vanessa works at Mariola’s Organic Spa & Treatment on Fridays from 10am to 6pm.
